CanaPux, 90% Canadian bitumen encased in polymer puck, continues to make progress

 In Daily Hot Topics - Crude

CanaPux, 90% Canadian bitumen encased in a 10% polymer puck, continues to make progress.

Two potential off takers have stepped forward;

  • Chinese company wanting to export to China for use in pavement and roofing applications
  • Canadian company wanting to export to South Korea and India

The economics remain challenging, as it requires processing on both receipt and delivery points, but it may have a niche applications totaling 20,000 to 100,000 BBL/day. I estimate total processing costs to be ~$10 BBL USD.
